Description   Floating water lettuce are both attractive and healthy for your pond.   Features Pistia stratoides - Water Lettuce Water Lettuce ZONE 9 - Unique light green lettuce-like foliage floats peacefully on the waters surface. Does best in moving water. Prefers some light shade. Restrictions: Sorry, but we can't ship this item to Alabama, California, Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina, Texas, Connecticut. More shade tolerant than Water Hyacinth. An easy way to add plants and boost the bio capacity to your pond: Needs no pot, floats on the water surface Grows rapidly Produces lush green lettuce like rosettes of leaves Grows extensive dangling root system that absorbs nutrients from the water column helping to quell algae growth Root system provides extensive surface area for colonization by beneficial bacteria Harvesting excess nutrients from your pond is as easy as raking out extra plants periodically throughout the season and tossing them on your compost pile.
