Description   Floating water hyacinths are both attractive and healthy for your pond   Features Eichhornia crassipes - Water Hyacinth Water Hyacinth ZONE 8 - Flowers June, July, August - Nearly transparent, intense lavender-blue flowers stand well above deep, waxy-green foliage. The easist way to add plants and boost the bio capacity to your pond: Needs no pot, floats on the water surface Grows rapidly Produces lush green leaves and free flowering blue hyacinth like flower spikes Grows extensive dangling root system that absorbs nutrients from the water column helping to quell algae growth Root system provides extensive surface area for colonization by beneficial bacteria Harvesting excess nutrients from your pond is as easy as raking out extra plants periodically throughout the season and tossing them on your compost pile.
